A Paw-fect day deserves a Paw-fect shoutout to Miss Gilda đ This beauty is a regular client of mine. I am very impressed with her growth. Before I started walking Gilda, she has not been used to walks or socializing at all. Gilda struggles with leash training, fear and socialization. She does have a fear reaction with strange new sounds. Her fear response is a called a "flight response". For example when she would hear a flag in the wind she would instantly want run away from it. "Flags are Foes not Friends" to Gilda. During our walks the first few times, we worked on slow and short leash training with plenty of pauses. Stayed away from high active areas and made sure we did lots of reassurance and rewarding until she became more comfortable not only with me but her surroundings. She has made such big improvements that we have now reached a point that she is excited to go on walks with me. She knows where to walk beside me and she is more comfortable when switching positions and crossing streets. Leaves, Flags & new sounds are not as bothersome for her anymore and We are now walking with a bit longer leash with no tension in high active environments! Gilda is still learning and she is doing FANTASTIC. I can not wait to see her transformation in the future and begin socializing.
Gilda is the sweetest. My favorite part is I always receive some cute little kisses during our breaks! đ
